On October 3, 2026, the Volunteer Fire Brigade Blankenheim celebrates its 140th anniversary. All-day festival at the fire station with a ceremonial act, demonstration drills, a parade of comrades from neighboring communities, and a convivial conclusion. Free admission. The exact hourly schedule will be published by the brigade shortly before the event.

October 3, 2026, coincides with German Unity Day – a fitting date for the anniversary of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Blankenheim. Even in the run-up, the municipality announces a preliminary celebration at the Rosarium Sangerhausen on July 11, 2026; however, the actual anniversary festival will take place on October 3 in Blankenheim itself.

The brigade has existed since 1886 and is – as in many communities in the Mansfeld-Südharz district – a central pillar of public life. The day will proceed classically: reception of guest brigades, ceremonial act with honors, demonstration drills (firefighting and rescue operations), a festive parade through the town, and in the evening, a convivial and relaxed conclusion in the marquee.

By car via the A38 (exit Sangerhausen-Süd), then federal roads towards Blankenheim. By train to Sangerhausen, then bus or taxi. Parking available at the fire station and in the village.

Founded in 1886, the Volunteer Fire Brigade Blankenheim looks back on 140 years of voluntary fire protection and rescue services.
