About GOLDGELB Festival
GOLDGELB Festival — edition 2026
2026 Program — 12th Edition
The 12th edition of GOLDGELB uses the specially cultivated sunflower field as a magical backdrop for five days of live music. Ten bands over five days — Rock, Pop, Indie, and high-quality tribute acts (Coldplay, Beatles, ABBA, Deep Purple, Genesis tributes). The daily children's program from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM makes the festival one of the most family-friendly open-air events in the greater Stuttgart area.
On Sunday, the traditional ecumenical church service is on the program — a special feature that roots the festival in the local Krummhardt community. The exact lineup will be announced in spring 2026.

GOLDGELB — A Festival with a Planted Backdrop
The GOLDGELB Festival in the Sunflower Field is a unique open-air format in the Southern German festival calendar. What makes it special: The sunflowers are specially cultivated for the festival. A sunflower field on the outskirts of Aichwald-Krummhardt (approx. 800 inhabitants, ~20 km east of Stuttgart) is prepared for months — the flowers are in full bloom by the festival date in August, forming a spectacular backdrop for the stage, catering, and camping area.
12th Edition 2026
The festival will take place in its 12th edition in 2026 — from Thursday, August 20th, to Monday, August 24th, 2026 (an extended weekend with five festival days). The organizer since 2003 is the Kulturverein Krummhardt e.V., which organizes the festival on a voluntary basis. About 30 volunteers prepare the grounds and the sunflower field for months — around 600 helpers from the region are deployed during the festival days.
Family-Friendly, with Children's Program
GOLDGELB distinguishes itself from many open-airs through its consistently family-friendly profile:
- Children under 16 years old have free admission — no ticket required.
- Daily children's program from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM with hands-on activities, crafts, games, songs, and music.
- Hay bales as comfortable seating, decorative sunflowers, a café area with shaded spots.
- Accessible for all and dedicated parking spaces for people with disabilities.
Musical Program: 10 Bands Over 5 Days
With ten bands over five days, GOLDGELB is a rather relaxed open-air event — not a mega-festival, but a concert series in an idyllic setting. The genre spectrum ranges from Rock, Pop, and Indie to high-quality tribute acts: Coldplay, Beatles, ABBA, Deep Purple, and Genesis tribute bands. Additionally, an ecumenical church service on Sunday — an unusual element for German open-air festivals, reflecting the close connection to the Protestant Krummhardt community.
Aichwald — Stuttgart Suburb on the Schurwald
Aichwald is a small municipality in the Esslingen district (approx. 7,500 inhabitants) on the southwestern Schurwald. It consists of several districts, including Krummhardt — the actual festival location. Krummhardt is a small village with about 800 inhabitants, nestled among meadows, orchards, and forests. Its location about 20 km east of Stuttgart makes the festival easily accessible without the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Sponsors and Association Landscape
The festival is supported by regional suppliers and local businesses — sponsorship rather than large commercial investors. This keeps ticket prices affordable. The sponsorship model guarantees the festival's independence from mainstream festival organizers and enables its family-friendly, voluntary profile.
