Baltmannsweiler and its Music Association
Baltmannsweiler is a municipality with around 5,600 inhabitants in the Esslingen district (Baden-Württemberg) – located on the Schurwald between Esslingen and Schorndorf. The Musikverein Baltmannsweiler e.V. is one of the central cultural carriers of the municipality, with a main band, youth orchestra, brass school, and several sub-groups. The annual summer festival on the festival grounds on Schorndorfer Straße is the association's largest event.

The summer festival traditionally runs for four days – usually from Friday to Monday. In recent years, it has taken various forms: 2024 from June 28 to July 1, 2025 from June 27 to June 30. For 2026, the summer festival has already been announced by the music association; the exact date (late June or early July) will be announced by the association in advance on mv-baltmannsweiler.de.
Program – Four Festival Days of Brass Music
The festival program has been refined over the years:
- Friday – Festival kickoff, often with a rock'n'roll band like The BangBags or similar cover bands; tapping of the first keg, energy levels high
- Saturday – Traditional evening with Bohemian-Moravian brass music (e.g., Dr kloi Haufa), followed by the Schlagerkarussell of the befriended music association Liebersbronn – pop classics and party songs
- Sunday – Morning pint with Föhrenberger Blasmusik, performance by the youth band, in the afternoon guest performances by befriended music associations from the Schurwald
- Monday – Business lunch, children's program, further performances by the youth band, festival finale with the main band
Association Life and Volunteering
The depth of volunteer structures is striking – setup, catering, technical support, and dismantling are carried out by dozens of association members and volunteers. The cohesion of the association has grown over decades, and the summer festival is not only a cultural event but also a general meeting of the association in the broadest sense.
