Cuban salsa at the KuBuS

The CubaJena festival is run by the Jenaer Tanzhaus e.V. and celebrates Cuban dance forms from casino and son to timba and cha-cha-chá, with workshops, parties and live percussion. On Saturday, 07.11.2026, solo technique and block workshops fill the day. The KuBuS party follows in the evening.

Four dance couples lead the workshops. Casino, son, rueda de casino and rueda de son are set up as blocks that build on each other, at different levels for beginners and advanced dancers.

Sunday, November 8, brings talks, advanced workshops and, to close, the final dance party, and anyone who comes for a single day finds day tickets depending on availability next to the festival passes sold online.

Jena is the second-largest city in Thuringia. The university town lies in the Saale valley.
