50 Years of Fleckenfest — A Stuttgart District Celebrates Itself
The Zuffenhäuser Fleckenfest is more than just a festival — it is the annual sense of community of the Stuttgart district of Zuffenhausen, located on the northern side of the city between Feuerbach and Möhringen. Since 1976, the Heimatverein Zuffenhausen has organized the four-day festival in two central squares: the Alten Flecken (the historic village center) and the Zehnthof. In 2026, it will celebrate its 50th edition — a true anniversary.
Four Days of District Life
The program follows a proven rhythm. Friday is the opening evening with live music. Saturday is the main festival day with stage performances, amusement rides, food stalls around the Alten Flecken, and catering by the clubs. Sunday begins with the ecumenical service at 10 a.m., followed by the traditional flea market from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday is the senior citizens' afternoon and a relaxed conclusion.
Diversity, Tolerance, and the Heimatverein
The motto of the Fleckenfest has been: Diversity and Tolerance for years. Behind the festival is the Heimatverein Zuffenhausen, a civic association that preserves the identity of the district — Zuffenhausen is home to Porsche (the main plant is located here) and has a strong industrial history, but also a historic town center that still shapes the character of the "Alten Flecken" today. At the festival, you see all of this in one place: Porsche employees, long-time Zuffenhausen families, young people from all over Stuttgart, club members, festival caterers.
Getting There and City Context
Zuffenhausen is excellently connected to Stuttgart city center via the U-Bahn lines U7 and U15, as well as the Zuffenhausen S-Bahn station — reachable in about 10 minutes from the main train station. This makes the Fleckenfest an attractive summer destination in Baden-Württemberg for Stuttgart residents and visitors from neighboring towns as well.
