Electronic Music in a Baroque Setting
The Zuckerbrot & Peitsche Open Air Festival is one of the most prominent events for electronic dance music in the state of Bavaria and the district-free city of Regensburg. The venue is Pürkelgut Water Castle, a baroque castle ensemble on the eastern outskirts of Regensburg. The historic castle park provides an extraordinary setting for a modern festival that combines house, techno, and related genres of electronic music.
Multiple Stages, Many Acts
Over two dozen national and international DJs and live acts perform on several stages. The festival's artist circle includes names like Aka Aka, Felix Kröcher, Moonbootica, and Sam Paganini. The musical spectrum ranges from melodic house to driving techno, creating a diverse program for a discerning audience.
Atmosphere
Characteristic of Zuckerbrot & Peitsche is the combination of its idyllic location in the castle park and the exuberant festival atmosphere. Around 3,000 guests ensure a familiar yet energetic ambiance, distinguishing the festival from larger, more anonymous events.
Tradition for Over a Decade
Since its inception, the festival has continuously developed and become an integral part of Regensburg's summer culture. For the electronic music scene in Eastern Bavaria, the annual date at Pürkelgut is one of the highlights of the season.
Regensburg as a Festival City
Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site on the Danube, is a young, festival-friendly city with a vibrant university and cultural scene. Zuckerbrot & Peitsche complements the city's diverse range of events with a high-quality open-air electronic music experience.
