The Food Truck Festivals were the first of their kind in Germany — a pioneering brand of the street food wave that swept over from the USA to Europe in the mid-2010s. For years, the concept has toured through major German cities, always with the same format: a central open-air space, a selection of the best food trucks in the country, plus music, a stage, a bar, and a children's program. In Regensburg, the festival takes place every year at the end of June in the Gewerbepark Süd — on the large parking lot by the lake, which easily accommodates the logistics of 20+ trucks.
What to Expect at a Food Truck Festival
The concept is simple: small tasting portions at affordable prices, allowing you to wander through many different trucks and sample your way through global cuisine. Mexican (tacos, quesadillas, burritos), Asian (bao buns, pho, banh mi, sushi), American (BBQ ribs, pulled pork, cheeseburgers), European (pasta, tarte flambée, crêpes, tapas), vegan and vegetarian options — this is the typical range of a food truck festival. In addition, there are wine, beer, and cocktail bars for the adults.
Stage, Bar, and Children's Area
In addition to the food, a varied supporting program is part of the concept: on the live stage, various bands and artists perform, a cocktail bar serves adults with creative mixed drinks, and there is a separate play area with a program for children. In case of changeable weather, sheltered and covered areas ensure that the mood doesn't dampen.
Gewerbepark Regensburg as a Location
The Gewerbepark Regensburg in the Burgweinting-Harting district, with over 60 hectares, is one of the largest business parks in Bavaria. With 3,500 free parking spaces and direct access to the A3 motorway (Regensburg-Universität/Burgweinting exit), arrival is easy. For city residents, there are bus lines 11 and 17 of the RVV. The festival site is located directly on a small lake — a perfect backdrop for a relaxed summer weekend in sunny weather.

The Food Truck Festival 2026 in Gewerbepark Regensburg takes place from June 26th to 28th — three days of street food diversity from around the world, right by the lake in Gewerbepark Süd. More than 20 carefully curated food trucks offer tasting portions, allowing guests to sample their way through international culinary worlds.
Accompanying this will be a live stage with changing bands and solo artists, a cocktail bar with creative summer drinks, and an extensive children's program with a play area. Sheltered and covered areas ensure that even a rain shower won't ruin the festival.

Getting There
By car via the A3, exit Regensburg-Universität or Regensburg-Burgweinting, then follow signs to Gewerbepark Süd. 3,500 free parking spaces directly at the festival site. By bus: RVV lines 11 and 17 from Regensburg Hauptbahnhof to the Gewerbepark stop.
Admission
Free admission. Food and drinks are purchased directly at the food truck or bar (typical prices for tasting portions: 4–9 Euros per dish; larger portions accordingly higher). Cash and card (at most trucks) accepted.
Tips
Don't come with a huge appetite — prices are set for tasting portions, allowing you to try food from 5 or 6 trucks. Avoid peak times (Saturday 7–9 PM) if you dislike waiting at the trucks. With children: Friday afternoon or Sunday lunchtime are the quietest time slots.
