Living Zoigl Tradition in the Upper Palatinate
The Zoiglbier season in Mitterteich is a unique cultural experience in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth in Bavaria. Zoigl is an uncarbonated and unfiltered beer brewed in the historic Kommunbrauhaus (communal brewery), which is served in private Zoiglstuben according to centuries-old tradition – a living piece of Upper Palatinate identity.
The Zoiglstube Lugert »Boozhaus«
In Mitterteich, the Zoiglstube Lugert »Boozhaus« at Bachgasse 12 serves the original Mitterteich Zoiglbier on fixed dates. The serving establishment is recognizable by the traditional Zoiglstern (Zoigl star), the six-pointed brewer's star, which is hung outside the establishment. During the serving weeks, the Stube transforms into a convivial meeting place for locals and guests.

The Zoiglstube Lugert »Boozhaus« is the active Mitterteich Zoiglstube in 2026 and will be serving on several fixed seasonal dates. Confirmed dates include the serving weeks from June 26 to July 2, 2026 and from October 30 to November 5, 2026. On serving days (approx. 9 AM to 1 AM), the original Mitterteich Zoiglbier, brewed in the communal brewery, will be served, along with hearty Upper Palatinate specialties such as Brotzeiten and Schweinsbraten. The serving establishment is recognizable by the hanging Zoigl star. Further dates will be announced continuously via zoigl-lugert.de and zoiglbier.de.
