After-work beer, stories, and music straight from the heart of the Oberpfalz
The Oberpfälzer Zoiglabend takes place in the brewery hall of the Falkenberg Castle event and conference center – in the market town of Falkenberg, Tirschenreuth district, Bavaria, right in the heart of the Oberpfalz Zoigl region. The organizer is Forum Falkenberg – Freunde der Burg e.V. The evening is a humorous and affectionate nod to a beer culture that exists only in the northern Oberpfalz.
The focus is on Reinhard »Kitty« Fütterer, host of the Schafferhof in Neuhaus near Windischeschenbach. In a beer-infused journey, he talks about the knowledge and secrets surrounding Zoigl, spiced with humorous texts and anecdotes. He explains the special nature of communal brewing (Kommunbrauerei), where neighbors brew together and take turns serving the beer under the Zoigl star – a tradition that emphasizes conviviality and community.
The host is musically accompanied by Schieder Luk, also known as the accordionist of the Altneihauser Feierwehrkapell’n, and regional guitarist Jürgen Walbert (Wyatt Earp), along with other musicians. Original, freshly tapped Zoigl from the Falkenberg communal brewers is served as a taste of the Oberpfalz.
The intimate setting in the brewery hall is what makes the evening so special. Visitors praise the cozy, entertaining atmosphere – the event is often sold out. An evening that proves: »Zoigl brings people together.«
