From Friday, May 15th, to Monday, May 18th, 2026, the 4th edition of the Xplosion Ritmo Berlin Bachata Festival takes place in the Kesselhaus and Maschinenhaus of KulturBrauerei. Over 35 hours of parallel workshops are spread across the four days — Bachata (main genre), Salsa, and Kizomba, from beginner to pro levels. 20+ international artists lead workshops and present performance sets. Three major evening parties in the Kesselhaus, with Day Socials in a relaxed atmosphere in between. Fresh talent, social dancing, festival vibes — not a dance marathon format, but a festival with atmosphere and community spirit.

Berlin's Latin dance scene has experienced a boom in recent years: several dance schools (TanzZeit, Carusso, Salsa Caribe Berlin), three or four dedicated Latin clubs (El Barrio, Havanna Berlin), and regular social dancing nights in bars and lounges. Bachata — the Dominican dance with its sensual steps — has seen the most significant growth. Xplosion Ritmo Berlin capitalizes on this wave, hosting an annual festival since 2022 that connects the Berlin scene with international artists.

KulturBrauerei as the Dance Hub

The KulturBrauerei is not just a Christmas market venue (Lucia Weihnachtsmarkt) — it's also one of Berlin's most important event spaces for concerts and dance festivals. The Kesselhaus and Maschinenhaus, both located directly at Hof 1 of the Kulturbrauerei, together form two vast halls with stucco and iron column architecture — ideal spaces for a four-day Latin dance festival.

Workshop, Performance, and Party Format

The festival combines three formats: Workshops (multiple rooms in parallel, beginner to professional levels), Performances (international artists showcase choreographed sets), and Parties and Socials (open dance floor until late at night). Day Socials in a relaxed atmosphere during the day, and major parties with DJ sets and live performances in the evening. Dance partners are welcome but not mandatory — many solo registrations are accepted, and the festival has a reliable solo system for workshops.
