Bavaria's first big Volksfest of the year on the Talavera
The Würzburg Spring Volksfest is considered Bavaria's first major Volksfest of the year. On the Talavera, a traditional festival site in the Lower Franconian city of Würzburg in the administrative district of Lower Franconia, thousands of visitors gather every March to herald the spring.
Around 50 showmen set up their stalls on the area between the Talaveraschlösschen and the Fraunhofer Institute. In addition to classics like the Ferris wheel and the chain carousel, the high-speed ride "Infinity" provides intense thrills with inversions, great heights, and speeds of up to 120 km/h.
The large Hahn festival tent offers lively music daily – from party bands and regional brass bands to country and blues. The kitchen focuses on regional ingredients and also offers vegetarian and vegan dishes; a specially brewed spring festival beer is served to accompany the food.
With its long tradition and central location in Würzburg, the Spring Volksfest is an integral part of the festival calendar in Lower Franconia and attracts guests from the entire region.
