Road run through Marzahn-Hellersdorf – 4 km and 12 km in the Wuhletal
The Wuhle is one of Berlin's characteristic watercourses: it originates in Brandenburg, flows through the east of the city, and flows into the Spree near Köpenick. The Wuhletal is now a continuously accessible green corridor connecting the eastern Berlin districts of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Lichtenberg – one of the city's greenest corridors.
The Wuhletallauf is back in 2026 after a break of several years. The organiser is the traditional Hellersdorfer Athletik-Club Berlin e.V., one of the oldest athletics clubs in the district. The revival is supported by players from the housing industry – Deutsche Wohnen is contributing €2,000 in sponsorship to the first re-edition.
Two routes are offered: a 4 km short run for youngsters, hobby runners and families, and a 12 km main run for ambitious community runners. Both routes use the Wuhletalweg, which is largely asphalted and well signposted. Start and finish in the Wuhletal Stadium in Hellersdorf.
A supporting programme will take place around the run in the stadium: award ceremonies, performances by local dance groups (including the Tabata Dance Group), cheerleading performances, drinks and snacks. The deliberately low entry fees – €5 for youth, €15 for adults – are part of the concept: the run is aimed at the local residents, not at event runners.
Marzahn-Hellersdorf is one of Berlin's most underestimated districts. The famous prefabricated housing estates shape its external image, but inside, the Wuhletal, Marzahner Promenade, Erholungspark Marzahn and the Gärten der Welt offer green spaces with a density that many other Berlin districts lack. The run is an invitation to get to know this topography.
The 2026 revival marks the return of the Wuhletallauf after a multi-year break. The format has been deliberately kept accessible: two routes, clear registration, low entry fees, focused on local residents.
The routes use the Wuhletalweg in the eastern green corridor of Berlin. The 4 km run stays in the immediate vicinity of the Wuhletal Stadium in Hellersdorf, while the 12 km main run goes further towards Marzahn and uses several bridges over the Wuhle.
Supporting program in the stadium: warm-up before the start, cheerleaders and dance groups during the run, award ceremonies in the afternoon, snack and drink stands.
