One ticket, one night, all Flensburg museums
Flensburg, with just under 91,000 inhabitants, is Germany's northernmost major city and the gateway to Denmark. The city boasts a dense network of museums — from the art-historically oriented Museumsberg to the Natural History Museum and the maritime-focused Maritime Museum on the harbor. The 'Long Night of Museums' brings this diversity together annually for a shared evening.
The 2026 edition marks a premiere: for the first time, the former power plant in Flensburg's industrial harbor will be included in the Long Night. Regional artists will animate the monumental industrial architecture with light installations and sound art — the cathedral-like hall of the power plant will become a stage for a contemporary production in a place that was not publicly accessible until recently.
With the combined ticket — adults €12, concessions €10 — all participating venues can be visited. This includes rides on the free shuttle bus from AktivBus, which runs between the museums. Ticket sales end at 11 p.m., after which admission is free. An evening that combines art, science, and industrial culture — and shows the city from an unusual perspective.
The Long Night 2026 starts on Saturday, October 31, at 7 p.m. and runs until after midnight.
The complete program flyer with times for guided tours, live acts, and light installations will be published in good time before the event by the Städtische Museen Flensburg. Highlight 2026: the light installations and sound art in the power plant at the industrial harbor, curated with regional artists, will illuminate former industrial architecture in a new light — either abstract-monumental or as a playground for quiet, precise sound art. The Maritime Museum traditionally offers a special tour of the Hanseatic era, and the Museumsberg features live music in the courtyard.
First use of the Industrial Harbor Power Plant with light and sound art, classic museum program at the three city venues, free shuttle.
Combined ticket adults €12, concessions €10 — includes shuttle bus. Free admission from 11 p.m.
Train: IC/ICE to Flensburg station, then a 10-minute walk to the center or take the shuttle bus. By car via the A7 (exit Flensburg-West). Parking around the Museumsberg and the harbor district.

Allow at least 30-45 minutes per venue. The new power plant in the industrial harbor is expected to be the main attraction — so go there early to avoid queues.
