Three days of street food, live music, and children's entertainment on Luisenplatz
Luisenplatz is one of Potsdam's central squares—right at the Brandenburg Gate, at the entrance to Brandenburger Straße, the pedestrian zone of the historic city centre. For the Street Food Festival, it's the ideal stage: spacious, central, easily accessible, with plenty of room for food trucks, market stalls, a stage, and seating.
The culinary offerings combine typical street food classics (burgers, wraps, BBQ, burritos) with Asian cuisine (bao, dim sum, ramen), South American specialities (empanadas, tacos), Middle Eastern cuisine (shawarma, falafel, bao), and vegan/vegetarian options. In addition, there are regional accents—Brandenburg sausage specialities, regional beer, coffee from Potsdam roasteries, and sweets from the Mark.
The musical program shifts from day to day: Friday evening features a 90s party to get the crowd moving away from the food trucks; Saturday is dedicated to the Potsdam band Volxroxx with cover songs; Sunday is musically calmer with reggae, blues, and jazz acts. The mix of loud and relaxed, young and family-friendly is the festival's hallmark.
Especially for the youngest visitors, there is a dedicated children's entertainment program—carousels and small rides around Luisenplatz. This makes the festival explicitly family-friendly: parents eat, children ride, everyone meets on the square.
The Street Food Festival is part of the state capital Potsdam's urban event calendar and is included in its official program. It is one of Brandenburg's best-known street food formats and attracts guests from Potsdam, Berlin, and the surrounding areas.
From March 13 to 15, 2026, Luisenplatz Potsdam will transform into a street food marketplace. Organizers will set up food trucks and stalls from several continents — from Asian cuisine to Latin American specialities, Middle Eastern classics, regional Brandenburg accents, and vegan options.
Opening hours are Friday 2 PM–10 PM, Saturday 12 PM–10 PM, and Sunday 12 PM–6 PM. Admission is free; only food and drinks are paid for on-site.
