About Wüstenrot Pfingstfest

Over the Pentecost weekend 2026, VfB Neuhütten 1929 e.V. invites you from May 22nd to 25th to the 73rd edition of the Wüstenrot Pfingstfest on the sports field in Wüstenrot-Neuhütten. For four days, the club grounds at Öhringer Straße 80 will be transformed into a meeting point for football fans, families, and festival-goers from all over the Mainhardter Wald and beyond. A football tournament with numerous participating clubs shapes the sporting framework, while music evenings, festival operations with local specialties, and a catering tent provide the social highlights. Pentecost Tuesday (May 26th) concludes the festival with an official clean-up operation.

Pentecost in the Mainhardter Wald

In Wüstenrot-Neuhütten, Pentecost traditionally means the annual Pfingstfest (Pentecost festival) of the VfB. The municipality in the district of Heilbronn is nestled in the Mainhardter Wald, a vast low mountain range forest between Schwäbisch Hall and Heilbronn — characterized by beech forests, meadows, and streams. The Pfingstfest has been held on the sports field at Öhringer Straße for over seven decades, and 2026 marks the 73rd edition — a remarkably long, unbroken tradition for a club festival.

2026 Program — Four Days of Festival Operations

The 2026 edition runs from Friday, May 22nd to Pentecost Monday, May 25th, 2026. The focus, alongside the social festival atmosphere, is the football tournament with teams from the Mainhardter Wald, the Heilbronn region, and friendly clubs from Hohenlohe. In addition, there are music evenings with local bands and DJs, a festival tent catered by VfB club members and their families, regional specialties, and cool drinks.

The complete match and tournament program will be published by VfB Neuhütten 1929 e.V. shortly before the Pentecost weekend via the club's homepage and the traditional Festbüchlein (festival booklet) — the latter has been a collector's item for regular guests for decades. On Tuesday, May 26th, the official clean-up operation will take place with the festival committee and club members.

VfB Neuhütten 1929 — A Club with History

VfB Neuhütten 1929 is not just a football club but a social pillar of the small village of Neuhütten within the municipality of Wüstenrot. Founded in 1929, the club has continuously organized the Pfingstfest since the 1950s, establishing itself as an organizer for over seven decades. The festival finances significant parts of the club's youth work and enables VfB to compete in the Kreisliga. For many Wüstenrot residents, it is the social highlight of the year — a class reunion, family gathering, and village festival all in one.

Wüstenrot and Neuhütten — Building Land and Forest

The municipality of Wüstenrot is known nationwide as the location of the Bausparkasse (building society) of the same name — Wüstenrot Bausparkasse was founded in 1921 in Wüstenrot. Although its headquarters are now in Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg, the brand name continues to carry the town's name worldwide. The district of Neuhütten, where the Pfingstfest takes place, is manageable with about 1,000 inhabitants — making the festival, which puts the local community in a festive mood for four days, even more intense.

Pentecost 2026 — Four Festival Days

The 73rd edition of the Wüstenrot Pfingstfest will once again bring hundreds of visitors to the Neuhütten sports field from May 22nd to 25th, 2026. In parallel, there will be music evenings — live bands, DJs, local combos — and the large festival tent catered by the VfB club members.
