Wine Festival in a Municipality Without Viticulture
The Weinfest Visbek is an interesting event phenomenon: Visbek is located in the Oldenburger Münsterland — a region without its own viticulture and culturally more associated with beer and schnapps distillation. Nevertheless, the wine festival has established itself as an annual Sunday event and underscores the region's open-minded enjoyment culture, which readily embraces foreign culinary traditions.
Winegrowers from Germany and Europe
At the wine festival, winegrowers and wineries from German wine-growing regions — primarily Pfalz, Rheinhessen, Mosel, Baden, Franken — as well as occasionally from France, Italy, and Spain present themselves. Direct tasting, sales by the glass, direct sales, and advice from the winegrowers themselves make the day an authentic wine experience beyond supermarket selection.
Regional Food and Music
Accompanying this, regional and suitable foods are offered: cheese platters, ham specialities, tarte flambée, bread, sweet pastries. Live music by an acoustic band, a jazz trio, or singer-songwriters provides the right atmosphere — a wine-affine repertoire away from loud festival tent hits.
Sunday with Open Shops
As with the summer market, Visbek Macht e.V. also uses the wine festival for a Sunday with open shops: the local retail trade opens its businesses additionally and complements the wine festival with special promotions, autumn collections, and themed activities.
