Advent Atmosphere with a Clear Stance

Winter Pride is not a classic Christmas market. Instead of angel figures and stollen music, DJ sets, drag acts, and rainbow fairy lights reign. Instead of traditional market announcements with "Last Christmas," local Hamburg DJs play from 7 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. And yet – the classics are not missing: mulled wine, spiced biscuits, gingerbread, and a cozy pre-Christmas atmosphere are also available here.

Six Weeks, One Community Platform

From mid-November until December 21st, the market opens its doors. Monday to Thursday, the stall is often run by community organizations and LGBTQ groups from Hamburg – they sell drinks, snacks, talk to visitors, and use the platform for visibility, fundraising, and encounters. On weekends, DJs take over.

St. Georg – Hamburg's Queer Quarter

For decades, Lange Reihe in St. Georg has been the centre of gay, lesbian, and queer life in Hamburg. Cafés, bars, bookshops, and initiatives characterise the street. Winter Pride is located right here – at the corner of Kirchenallee, within walking distance of the main train station. Thus, it is part of a vibrant queer quarter, not an isolated pop-up event.

In the Hamburg-Mitte District

St. Georg is located in the Hamburg-Mitte district, directly east of the main train station. Winter Pride is designed to be barrier-free – all areas are step-free, the nearest barrier-free stop is Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (S+U).
