Three days of culinary delights, live music, and Sunday shopping in Wiesloch's city centre
The Wiesloch City Festival is one of the oldest and most atmospheric city centre festivals in the Rhein-Neckar district. It traditionally takes place on the first weekend in July and transforms the entire city centre — pedestrian zone, market square, and side streets — into a continuous festival mile. In 2026, the event runs from Friday, 3 July to Sunday, 5 July under the motto "Enjoy, shop, celebrate".
What sets the city festival apart is its culinary depth: Wiesloch restaurateurs, associations, and gastronomy partners set up their culinary stations throughout the city centre — from Swabian and Baden home cooking to Mediterranean cuisine and specialities from the Kraichgau region. Live bands of all genres play on more than ten stages: Pop, Rock, Cover Bands, Acoustic Acts, Swabian tavern music. The Wiesloch associations present their own programmes on the central City Stage — dance groups, music clubs, sports groups.
The highlight for many is the Sunday shopping day: On Sunday, 5 July, the shops in Wiesloch's city centre will be open. You can shop, eat, listen to live music, and stroll through the city in the summer. Wiesloch's retail sector and business owners offer special promotions, and the market becomes a vibrant link between trade and the festival.
With around 27,000 inhabitants, Wiesloch is the largest town in the southern Rhein-Neckar district and a central hub between Heidelberg (15 km north) and Karlsruhe. The town is home to several large companies (including an SAP site) and has a historic town centre worth seeing. The city festival is therefore also a showcase event for Wiesloch's economy and its regional connection.
Wiesloch's city centre will become a festival mile from 3 to 5 July 2026. Bands from the region will play on over ten stages, associations will present their programmes, and gastronomy will offer Baden, Swabian, and Mediterranean specialities. On Sunday, the shops will also open for Sunday shopping.
