Open Air in the Anniversary Year of Wallmerod
With the Open Air on August 21 and 22, 2026, the municipality of Wallmerod is setting a musical summer highlight in the year of celebration for its 750th anniversary. The program is anchored in the anniversary calendar of the municipality and, together with the Spring Festival, Anniversary Kirmes (fair), Molsberg Market, Westerwald Oktoberfest, and Christmas Market, forms the supporting structure of the celebratory year.
Friday: Malle Party
Friday evening is dedicated to the Mallorca sound: DJs and entertainment create a party atmosphere, traditional in Westerwald festival tents. The Malle Party is aimed at a broad audience of young people, young adults, and the young at heart who want to celebrate hits and Schlager music together in the festival tent.
Saturday: Rock Evening
On Saturday, the Open Air changes its style and presents a classic rock evening with live music. Rock classics, cover hits, and original compositions frame a concert evening that completes the musical spectrum of the weekend and appeals to different generations.
Festival Culture in the Westerwald
As a market town, Wallmerod is conveniently located on the B 8 federal road between Limburg and Hachenburg and is the seat of the eponymous collective municipality. The Open Air is an expression of a vibrant club and festival calendar, which receives special visibility in the anniversary year and draws visitors from the entire northern Westerwald into the town center.
