Summer club festival on the Weserdeich with fire brigade, DLRG, and Ackeroldies
Campingplatz Juliusplate is not only a popular destination for motorhome and tent campers but also a vibrant meeting point for the community of Berne. The summer festival is the largest in-house event during the high season and attracts guests from all over the southern Wesermarsch annually. On the Weserdeich, with a wide view of the river and passing ships, a festival ground is set up, filled for several hours with music, demonstrations, and culinary offerings.
The program is significantly shaped by local clubs. The Weserdeich volunteer fire brigade presents emergency vehicles and hands-on activities for children. The DLRG demonstrates water rescue techniques and provides information on safe swimming – fitting for its location right by the water. The Ackeroldies tractor club brings historical tractors and agricultural machinery, creating a great atmosphere for fans of old technology with demonstrations and expert chats.
A stage with live music, a gastronomic area with bratwurst, fries, coffee and cake, and a drinks stand with draft beer and non-alcoholic options ensure you're well-catered for. Children will find games, a bouncy castle, and sometimes craft activities on the festival grounds. The summer festival is an event where campers and locals alike feel comfortable – informal, friendly, and with genuine Wesermarsch character.
The 2026 edition falls on the second Saturday in July, right in the middle of the campsite's peak season. As in previous years, local clubs will handle key program elements, while the campsite will provide the stage, catering, and logistics.
The summer festival is explicitly family-friendly. Children can move freely around the campsite, explore the Wesermarsch landscape, and participate in the clubs' hands-on activities.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure will follow the proven cornerstones of previous years:
Free admission, donations for the clubs welcome.
Campingplatz Juliusplate is located on the Weserdeich between Berne and Lemwerder. Arrive from Bremen via the B 75 or by the Lemwerder ferry. Parking is available directly at the campsite.
The summer festival takes place mainly outdoors. Folding chairs and blankets are welcome; some seating will be provided. There are covered areas in case of rain.
Bratwurst, fries, coffee, cake, draft beer, and non-alcoholic drinks are offered by the campsite and participating clubs.
