Summery club festival directly on the shores of Lake Constance with dance shows, cocktail bar, and fireworks
Seezauber Sipplingen is one of those festivals whose charm is hard to describe until you stand on the promenade yourself. West of Überlingen, at the deepest point of the Überlinger See, the festival grounds spread out right by the water — boats bob at the pier, lights reflect in the lake, and the sound of dance music floats above it all. It's the kind of summer evening you imagine when you travel to Lake Constance.
Behind Seezauber are two pillars of the Sipplingen club scene: Musikverein Sipplingen e.V. and TSV Sipplingen e.V. Both have joined forces as Seezauber Festgemeinschaft GbR to organize the festival — a rare constellation that shows how deeply rooted the weekend is locally. The net proceeds go back into the clubs' funds to finance youth work, instrument purchases, and sports equipment. So, those who celebrate here are directly supporting Sipplingen's club sports and brass music.
The motto for 2024 was "Fiesta Latina," and it was so well-received that the Latin American theme runs through the entire Saturday: Tango show dances, Samba performances, appearances by Sipplingen's dance groups. The cocktail bar adds the right touch with Mojitos and Caipirinhas. Stalls open at 5 PM, the stage comes alive, and Sipplingen celebrates by the lake until the early morning hours — officially 3 AM. The highlight of the evening remains the fireworks, which paint the night lake in color.
Sunday shifts down a gear. From 11:30 AM, there's the Frühschoppen with brass music, followed by coffee and cake in the afternoon, face painting, and a bouncy castle for the little ones. The festival winds down around 4 PM — just in time to use the rest of the Sunday afternoon for a walk by the lake.
Sipplingen is located in the Bodenseekreis district (Baden-Württemberg) between Überlingen and Ludwigshafen, right on the famous Sipplingen cliff coast. The village is small — just under 2,300 inhabitants — and the Seezauber festival is one of the events that mobilizes the entire community. You can reach Sipplingen from all directions via the Bodensee-Gürtelbahn (Lake Constance Belt Railway), and the train station is just a few minutes from the festival grounds.
