Open Vineyard — Wine enjoyment among the vines with live music and DJ sets on the Kaiserstuhl
The SUMMIT is the annual summer event of Weingut Wiedemann in Sasbach am Kaiserstuhl. The concept is unique: an Open Vineyard, where the vines themselves become the stage. Guests stroll among the vines, enjoy Wiedemann wines directly at the place of origin, and experience live music and DJ sets under the open sky. Friday, May 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The third edition since its premiere in 2024.
The 2026 musical program combines singer-songwriter, indie, and DJ sets: Steffi Kromer & John Amann bring their intimate, acoustic sound; Tidey presents indie-pop with an electronic touch; Mo creates dance floor vibes with house and melodic sets; Silva & Myles close the night with deep house sounds. The stage is set in the vineyard, and the atmosphere shifts with the day, from a relaxed aperitif ambiance in the late afternoon, through sunset magic, to a dance night under the stars.
Sasbach am Kaiserstuhl is located in the west of the Kaiserstuhl, the famous volcanic wine-growing region between Freiburg im Breisgau and the French border. With the most sunshine hours in Germany and volcanic loess soils, the Kaiserstuhl is considered one of the outstanding growing areas for Burgundy varieties. Weingut Wiedemann cultivates sites here where Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder), Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder), Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder), and Chardonnay reach their peak performance. The SUMMIT offers you the rare opportunity to taste these wines exactly where they grow.
Selected caterers complement the Wiedemann wines with regional and creative dishes — from Flammkuchen to street food variations. The Open-Vineyard atmosphere is the centerpiece: no classic festival stage with barriers, but an accessible vineyard area where people, vines, music, and wine meet. The winery focuses on atmosphere rather than crowds — the mood is reminiscent of a large private party where all guests are welcome.
A special feature of the SUMMIT: admission is free. You pay for wine and food on-site. Weingut Wiedemann positions the event not as a commercial festival, but as a communal experience — true to the motto "Every single guest is part of the SUMMIT." If you want to experience a special summer evening in one of Baden's most beautiful vineyards, this is the place to be.
