The Concept: Everything in White
The White Dinner Kampen combines French "Dîner en blanc" flair with Sylt's beach elegance. The idea: All guests appear in completely white clothing, set up a communal open-air dinner on the main beach at the Sturmhaube access point — with white tablecloths, white table decorations, white candles — and bring everything they need themselves. Shoes and accessories can be colorful, or you can go barefoot in the sand.

Three Ways to Participate
- Long Table Seat with Ticket: Reserved seat at a communal table on the beach (tickets available online from May 1, 2026, max. 10 per person)
- Your Own Spot: Anyone who simply wants to picnic in the sand is also welcome without a ticket — white clothing is a prerequisite
- Observer: Those who just want to watch the spectacle are welcome on the promenade — photographic impressions are allowed, but the beach is reserved for participants
The Atmosphere
What makes the White Dinner Kampen a special event: the mix of planned elegance and spontaneous encounters. Around 500 guests in white gather on the main beach at Sturmhaube, the sun sinks over the North Sea, the wind blows through the dune grass, the candles flicker. There is no official stage, no structured program — just shared enjoyment. This mix makes the event on the North Frisian celebrity island of Sylt in the district of Nordfriesland in the state of Schleswig-Holstein a summer highlight.

In 2026, the White Dinner Kampen celebrates its tenth anniversary — a round birthday that confirms the format as a firm Sylt summer tradition. The organizers expect a large turnout and recommend arriving early.

- 4:00 PM — Beach is prepared for the event, long tables are set up
- 5:30 PM — First guests arrive at the Sturmhaube access point
- 6:00 PM — Official start, opening remarks by Kampen Tourism
- 6:00 PM–10:00 PM — Picnic, communal dining, socializing, relaxed music (via portable sound systems)
- 9:30 PM — Sunset over the North Sea — collective highlight
- 10:00 PM–11:00 PM — Extended picnic wind-down by candlelight
- 11:00 PM — Beach is cleaned up together, lights out

Sylt is accessible via the Hindenburg Causeway by train or car transport train from Niebüll. Direct connections from Hamburg-Altona. From Westerland station, take a bus or the Sylt Shuttle to Kampen. On-site: walk to the main beach at Sturmhaube.

Ticket sales for the long table seats start on May 1, 2026, at 00:00 AM via sylt.de. Maximum 10 tickets per person. Experience shows: tickets sell out in a short time, quick clicking required.
Without a Ticket
Those looking for their own spot in the sand can participate without a ticket — white clothing is a prerequisite. You bring everything yourself.
