An Evening of Lights in the Vineyards

The Weinleuchten Thüngersheim transforms the vineyards above the Main town of Thüngersheim into an atmospheric backdrop. At the terroir-f point 'Wine & Mythology' on Thüngersheim's Johannisberg, lanterns and light installations bathe guests and vineyards in a romantic atmosphere at dusk. The event is organized by the Thüngersheim Winegrowers' Association.

Wine and Mythology

The Thüngersheim terroir-f location is dedicated to the theme 'Wine & Mythology'. It tells the story of Ariadne, who helped Theseus out of the Minotaur's labyrinth with a red thread and was later taken as a wife by the wine god Dionysus – the first wine queen in history. A large bronze sculpture of the goddess Ariadne welcomes guests high above the Franconian landscape.

Open-Air Wine Tasting

The focus is on a wine tasting featuring around 40 wines – from regional varieties to top vintages. Culinary offerings and DJ music complement the experience. The sweeping view over the Main valley and the illuminated vines make the evening a special summer experience.

Thüngersheim in Franconian Wine Country

Thüngersheim is located on the Main River north of Würzburg in the Würzburg district of Bavaria and is one of Franconia's traditional wine-growing towns. The terroir-f point on Johannisberg is a popular destination all year round.
