According to Bayern Tourismus and the competition calendar, the F3A Championship 2026 begins on Friday, August 28, with competition days on August 29 and 30. Around 35 pilots from Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands will compete. On Saturday, August 29, three rounds will be flown in the B-program with an awards ceremony for the Bavarian Open and the German Championship for B-program participants; A-program participants will fly one round on August 29 and two rounds on August 30. Top-Class Aerobatics
The International and German Championship in F3A Aerobatics is one of the most important model flying competition events in the region. The venue is the airfield of the Modellfluggruppe Roding-Pösing e.V. in Pösing (Cham district) in the Upper Palatinate.
What is F3A?
F3A is the FAI competition class for radio-controlled aerobatics. Pilots fly set sequences of figures, where precision, elegance, and flying artistry at the highest level are paramount. A jury evaluates each figure based on geometry, cleanliness, and positioning in the airspace.
International Field of Competitors
Around 35 pilots from Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands are expected. They will fly an A-program and a B-program. Integrated into the competition is the Bavarian Open F3A, which is scored separately.
