Weinhügelfest Fürstenzell

Tradition since 1930

The Fürstenzell Weinhügelfest first took place in 1930 under the large linden trees on the Weinhügel and remains the largest Volksfest of the market town of Fürstenzell in the Passau district (Bavaria) to this day. For five days at Pentecost, the Weinhügel transforms into a lively festival ground with a heated marquee.

Five Days of Festival Program

Each festival day has its own character:

• Thursday: Bavarian Heimatabend with traditional music
• Friday: Abend der Betriebe with beer tapping
• Saturday: Ladies Night with lively music and a beer barrel rolling competition
• Sunday: Blechmusi-Sonntag with a festive parade
• Monday: Cozy beer tent evening with a children's program

Anniversary Year FZ3LL

2026 is dedicated to the major anniversary year FZ3LL: Fürstenzell celebrates 950 years of its parish, 750 years of its monastery, and 50 years of its market town status – under the motto "950 Years of Faith, 750 Years of Community, 50 Years of Growth". The Weinhügelfest is a highlight in the anniversary celebrations and will therefore have special significance in 2026.

Atmosphere

Beer tent music, the aroma of festival caterer specialties, and the linden greenery overhead: The Weinhügelfest combines Bavarian Volksfest atmosphere with village conviviality. With free admission and unreserved seating, it is a festival for everyone – families, clubs, and guests from all over the Passau region.
