BlechReiz is a renowned wind ensemble that has made a name for itself in recent years with its virtuosic yet audience-friendly programs. The musicians — all active in major German orchestras and music academies — impress with a diverse repertoire ranging from classical music, pop, film scores, and their own compositions. Brass & Beats is the programmatic subtitle: sophisticated wind music meets groove and rhythmic energy.

European Weeks Passau

The concert is part of the European Weeks Passau — one of Southern Germany's most traditional music and cultural festivals, founded in 1952. For six weeks, the festival management presents concerts, theater performances, and exhibitions at venues in Passau and throughout the entire region of Lower Bavaria, Upper Austria, and South Bohemia. Ortenburg Castle has been a regular venue for years.

Ortenburg Castle

Ortenburg Castle is located about 20 kilometers west of Passau and is one of Lower Bavaria's most important Renaissance complexes. Built in the 16th century by the Counts of Ortenburg, the castle today houses a museum, registry office, and a diverse event program. The concert takes place in the unique atmosphere of the castle ambiance — in the castle courtyard in good weather, or in the historic rooms if it rains.

Ortenburg in the Passau District

Ortenburg, a market town with about 7,000 inhabitants in the Passau district (Bavaria), is situated in the hilly landscape between the Danube, Inn, and Vils rivers. The castle towers over the town center on a rocky outcrop and shapes the town's appearance. Ortenburg is also famous for its wildlife park and its historic market square.
