Wine festival at Rathausplatz with vintners from partner town Bardolino on Lake Garda — Italian flair, live music, free entry
Rednitzhembach is a municipality in the Roth district in the Bavarian administrative region of Middle Franconia, south of Nuremberg and Schwabach. Since 2004, a town partnership has connected Rednitzhembach with Bardolino, the well-known wine town on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The Weinfest (wine festival) originated from this friendship: since 2012, vintners from Bardolino have brought Italian flair to the Rathausplatz once a year.
The focus is on wines from Bardolino — the eponymous red wine, the rosé wine Chiaretto, and the sparkling wine Spumante. They are complemented by Franconian and other wines from Germany and abroad. A delegation from Bardolino travels regularly and pours their own wines — a lived town partnership in a glass.
Culinary delights are dominated by Mediterranean specialties from the partner region, alongside regional Franconian delicacies. On both festival days, live music creates a great atmosphere in the Rathausplatz and the community center — there's dancing and celebrating into the evening.
The festival is supported by local clubs and the municipality, with backing from Raiffeisenbank and Sparkasse Mittelfranken-Süd. Admission is free; for a contribution of 3 Euros, each guest receives a personal, reusable wine glass for the entire festival — a sustainable hallmark of the wine festival.
The municipality is conveniently located on the S-Bahn line Nuremberg–Roth. The wine festival is an expression of the town's vibrant club and partnership culture and a fixed date in late summer for wine lovers from the entire Roth district and the greater Nuremberg area.
The 2026 Wine Festival is scheduled for the last weekend of the Bavarian summer holidays — Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, 2026 — at Rathausplatz and the Rednitzhembach community center. It opens on Friday at 6 PM. Vintners from the partner town of Bardolino on Lake Garda will be serving red wine, Chiaretto, and Spumante, complemented by Franconian and other wines. Mediterranean specialties and live music will be featured on both days. Admission is free; for €3, each guest receives a personal wine glass.
