Punk Open Air with Tradition

The »Wallesau ist Blau« Open Air is one of the established events in the Punk and Metal scene in Middle Franconia. The volunteer-run festival is organized by the Musikinitiative Wallesau e.V. on the festival grounds in the Wallesau district of the town of Roth in the Roth district, Free State of Bavaria. Over the years, the Open Air has developed into one of the region's best-known independent festivals.

Two Days of Loud Sounds

For two days, bands from Punk, Metal, Hardcore, Crossover, and Ska perform on the open-air stage – a colorful mix of genres that brings together scene headliners and up-and-coming newcomers. The festival thrives on its familiar, down-to-earth atmosphere, far from commercial mega-events.

Down-to-Earth and Volunteer-Run

Behind »Wallesau ist Blau« is the Musikinitiative Wallesau e.V., which organizes the festival on a voluntary basis. The manageable festival site, fair ticket prices, and the commitment of the helpers contribute to its special charm. For one weekend, Wallesau transforms into a meeting point for the Franconian subculture.

Roth and the Roth Region

Roth is located about 25 km south of Nuremberg in Middle Franconia. The Wallesau district is easily accessible from the main town; the festival complements the town's diverse event calendar, which also includes the internationally renowned DATEV Challenge Roth.
