Marktschorgast, a market community of 2,300 inhabitants in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach, hosts its Christmas market at the Stöckleinsteich every December. The small pond in the town center is illuminated with fairy lights and provides the ideal backdrop for a few relaxed hours at the mulled wine stand, with sweets, crêpes, Christmas and gift items, as well as a lovingly designed children's program. The market community of Marktschorgast itself is the organizer, together with local associations.

Marktschorgast — Gateway to the Franconian Forest

Marktschorgast is located on the Nuremberg-Hof railway line and is considered the eastern gateway to the Franconian Forest (Kulmbach district, Bavaria). The Stöckleinsteich is located in the middle of the town center, just a few steps from the town hall – a small village pond that serves as a natural idyll in summer and as a backdrop for the Christmas market in winter.
