The village meets

Mönchhagen is located in the Rostocker Heide, an extensive forest area between Rostock and the Baltic Sea. The municipality belongs to the Amt Rostocker Heide and shares the village festival concept with other places in the region. The Mönchhagen village festival is considered an annual meeting point for residents and weekend guests – a rather small but very lively format, supported by the Förderverein Freizeit- und Begegnungsstätte Mönchhagen e.V.

Program for young and old

On the village square, visitors can expect music (often Schlager bands and cover bands), club presentations with stands and hands-on activities, regional food such as fresh bratwurst, homemade cakes, grilled fish, and drinks at club prices. Children can try out the bouncy castle, craft stations, and small games.

Club life and support association

The festival is organized entirely by volunteers. The Förderverein Freizeit- und Begegnungsstätte is anchored in village life and uses the proceeds from the village festival to finance projects such as the maintenance of the community hall, children's parties, and cultural events throughout the year.

Rostocker Heide

Mönchhagen is a starting point for hikes and bike tours through the Rostocker Heide – one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Visitors to the village festival can easily combine their stay with experiencing nature or a trip to the Baltic Sea coast in Markgrafenheide (around 10 kilometers).

By bus from Rostock or by car via the B105. Parking in the village center.
