Handicrafts and design on all four Advent Sundays at S-Bahnhof Mexikoplatz
The Artisanal Christmas Market at Mexikoplatz has been curated for years by Cornelja Hasler (KUNSTHAND-BERLIN) and differs fundamentally from typical Berlin mulled wine markets. A simple rule applies here: only handmade items, only original designs, no purchased industrial goods. Those selling at Mexikoplatz have designed and usually made their products themselves.
Mexikoplatz in the south of Zehlendorf is one of Berlin's most charming squares. Framed by residential buildings from the 1920s and the striking Art Nouveau Mexikoplatz station with its copper dome, it forms a small stage in the green west of the city. On Advent Sundays, around 100 stalls line up in a semicircle around the square, while small fir trees flank the wooden booths.
Jewellery design in silver, porcelain, and copper, Berlin ceramic studios with cups and bowls, textile printing and knitwear, illustrated children's books and postcard sets, wooden toys, leather goods, beeswax candles, soaps, glasswork. The market is famous for its density of quality – those who have shopped here once come back regularly.
The market is organized by KUNSTHAND-BERLIN, the association of Berlin craftswomen and craftsmen around Cornelja Hasler. Despite ongoing U3 construction work in the vicinity, the BVG has confirmed that the market can continue to take place – a market that is as much a part of the Zehlendorf Advent as a walk through Glienicke Palace Park.
The Artisanal Christmas Market at Mexikoplatz will take place in 2026 on all four Advent Sundays: November 29, December 6, December 13, and December 20, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The venue is Mexikoplatz in front of the Mexikoplatz S-Bahn station in southern Zehlendorf (14163 Berlin, Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough).
Despite the ongoing U3 construction work in Zehlendorf, the BVG has confirmed that the market can take place in 2026. The organizer is Cornelja Hasler (KUNSTHAND-BERLIN). Admission is free.
Across around 100 stalls, you'll find exclusively items designed and made by the exhibitors themselves:

The market takes place exclusively on Sundays. Those who want to shop in peace should come at opening time; it gets crowded in the afternoon. Cash is useful, but many small exhibitors also offer card payment. It's not very heated here – dress warmly.
