A Real Farm, A Real Christmas Market
Marienfelde is one of Berlin's oldest villages — the Romanesque village church of St. Alban, dating back to the 13th century, is among the oldest surviving sacred buildings in Brandenburg. In the heart of this historic village center stands Lehmann-Hof, a family-run farm managed by Karsten Lehmann. What takes place here over two weekends in Advent is different from most Berlin Christmas markets: not a professionally programmed inner-city event, but a grown village format with a farm character.
31st Edition — A Long Berlin Tradition
In 2026, the Christmas market at Lehmann's farm will be held for the 31st time — meaning since the mid-1990s. During this time, the market has built up a loyal following of visitors from all over Berlin who travel here every year on the two Advent weekends, often with the whole family and across multiple generations. The market's size is manageable — not 80 stalls like in Spandau or at Charlottenburg Palace, but a handful of huts around the farm barn, stable buildings, and the courtyard.
Program: Arts and Crafts, Animals, Mulled Wine
What is sold here is mainly arts and crafts: ceramics, woodwork, knitwear, Advent wreaths. Food and drink are provided with mulled wine, children's punch, bratwurst, and stick bread over an open fire. For children, there are pony rides (one of the few Berlin Christmas markets with real animals), a fairy tale tent with readings, and a small children's ice rink. In the evenings, the farm atmosphere is enhanced by fairy lights, bonfires, and occasional trombone groups.
Marienfelde — Southern Berlin with Village Character
The Marienfelde district belongs to the Tempelhof-Schöneberg borough, located in southern Berlin between Tempelhof and the Brandenburg state border. It shares the rural, village-like appearance with Lichterfelde-Ost and Lankwitz — single-family homes, allotment gardens, open fields on the outskirts of the city. Lehmann-Hof is one of the few active agricultural businesses still operating in Berlin — making the Christmas market an authentic farm experience rather than just a themed market.
Two Weekends, Clear Opening Hours
The market runs on the two weekends around the 2nd and 3rd Advent: Friday 2 PM–8 PM, Saturday and Sunday 12 PM–8 PM. Free admission. Food and drink prices are at the classic Berlin Christmas market level — mulled wine and children's punch under €5, bratwurst around €5, stick bread €3.
