Advent magic in the Four Gates City
The Weberglockenmarkt is Neubrandenburg's traditional Christmas market and one of the largest in the Mecklenburg Lake District. Its name refers to the Weberglocke, a historical bell of the city — and to the specially created Weberglockenglühwein, which is considered a culinary trademark. For four Advent weeks, the market transforms the city centre into a Christmas experience of light, scents, and sounds.
Stalls, Mulled Wine, and Crafts
Decorated wooden stalls with gift ideas made of wood, ceramics, and fabric, Christmas tree decorations, and Advent decorations line the market square and adjacent streets. Roasted almonds, Christmas pastries, and eleven different mulled wine varieties are part of the regular offerings. Festive music accompanies the stroll between the stands.
Ice Rink and Children's Programme
A highlight for families is the ice rink »ice4fun«, which is set up on the festival grounds during the market period. In addition, there is a Santa Claus hut, a children's programme, and historical city tours that combine history and Advent atmosphere. Thus, the Weberglockenmarkt appeals to all generations.
Neubrandenburg in Advent
Neubrandenburg is located in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in the Mecklenburg Lake District district on the Tollensesee lake. The medieval defensive wall with its four city gates forms a particularly atmospheric backdrop for the Weberglockenmarkt during Advent.
