The Sommerach Wine Festival "Stil & Faszination" is one of the most beautiful wine festivals on the Franconian Main loop. For four days, the courtyard of the Sommerach winery transforms into an open wine stage: over 100 wines from the cooperative winery, four Sommerach hosts with regional specialties, live music, and a relaxed summer atmosphere in one of Franconia's most beautiful wine villages. The Sommerach Wine Festival "Stil & Faszination" will take place from July 10 to 13, 2026. For four days, Winzer Sommerach eG opens its courtyard at Katzenkopf: over 100 wines from the cooperative cellar, four Sommerach hosts with Franconian cuisine, live music daily. A jubilee year for the oldest wine cooperative in Bavaria, celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2026 – with special promotions and tastings.

From July 10 to 13, 2026, Winzer Sommerach eG invites you to the summer edition of its famous "Stil & Faszination" wine festival. 2026 is a special year: the oldest wine cooperative in Bavaria celebrates its 125th anniversary. The wine festival is part of the celebratory program – with special tastings, anniversary wines, and musical highlights.

The Experience

Over 100 cooperative wines – from robust Silvaners and fruity Bacchus to elegant Spätburgunders – can be tasted. Four Sommerach hosts provide the culinary offerings with Franconian classics. Accompanying music creates a relaxed summer atmosphere in the courtyard of the winery.

Getting There

Sommerach is located in the Kitzingen district, Lower Franconia. By car: A3 exit Kitzingen or Wiesentheid, then B22 towards Volkach. By train to Kitzingen, then bus 8123 to Sommerach.

Admission

Admission to the festival grounds is free. Wine list available on site. Recommendation: Buy a festival wine glass (deposit) and taste at various stands.

Guesthouses, wineries with guest rooms, and pensions in Sommerach and the neighboring towns of Volkach, Nordheim, Eisenheim. Early booking recommended.

Sommerach is located on an island in the middle of the famous Main loop in the Kitzingen district – with around 1,500 inhabitants, it is one of Bavaria's largest wine villages. 100 wine-growing families cultivate a total of 250 hectares of vineyards. The Sommerach Wine Festival "Stil & Faszination" is the annual calling card: four summer days when the whole village revolves around wine, conviviality, and Franconian specialties.

The Stage: Sommerach Winery

The organizer is Winzer Sommerach eG, the oldest wine cooperative in Bavaria (founded in 1901, 125 years in 2026). The spacious courtyard of the "Zum Katzenkopf" winery is the heart of the festival. At long tables and on terraces, guests enjoy Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Domina, and Spätburgunder directly from the cooperative's cellar.

Wine Enjoyment and Four Hosts

Over 100 different wines are available for tasting during the wine festival. Four Sommerach hosts provide guests with Franconian cuisine – bratwurst from a beechwood grill, farm duck, onion cake with young wine in an autumn preview, sweets from the farm baker. Live music accompanies all evenings, from jazz combos to cover bands.

The Wine Village Experience

The wine festival is embedded in a dense summer program by Winzer Sommerach: Silvaner whisper tastings, Wine & Walk tours through the vineyards, village and vineyard tours every Wednesday. Those who arrive early or stay longer will experience the wine year in its diversity. Sommerach is a stop on the "InselWeinmacher" – an initiative of the winemakers around the Main loop.

Sommerach and the Main Loop

The Volkach Main loop with the wine villages of Sommerach, Nordheim, Escherndorf, and Volkach is one of Franconia's most beautiful cultural landscapes. Picturesque half-timbered houses, the gate of the historic market square, and its location between the Main river and vineyards make Sommerach a popular destination during the summer months.
