Morning pint in the marquee at Rotenackerwald with the Tamm Music Association
When May begins, the Waldfest begins for the Tamm Music Association — one of the oldest community festivals in the municipality. On Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 12 p.m., the festival grounds at Rotenackerwald will transform into a festival meadow with a large marquee, catering, and live music. A classic Swabian morning pint (Frühschoppen) with all the trimmings: bratwurst, Maultaschen, beer, wine, and cake in the afternoon.
The Tamm Music Association e.V., founded almost 100 years ago, is one of the traditional associations in the municipality. With its large orchestra, youth band, and student training, it shapes Tamm's musical life. The Waldfest at the beginning of May is one of the association's most important sources of income — and at the same time a social highlight for the citizens of Tamm, who have been visiting the festival as a family gathering for decades.
The Rotenackerwald is located north of Tamm's town center and is a classic Swabian mixed forest area. Here, oaks, beeches, and larches alternate with meadows and clearings — a landscape that characterizes the region between Ludwigsburg and Tamm. The festival marquee is set up in a clearing that is warmed by the May sun during the day — visitors combine the morning pint with a forest walk.
Tamm, with around 13,000 inhabitants, is a municipality in the Ludwigsburg district, about 4 kilometers west of Ludwigsburg city center. Tamm is primarily known for the home stadium of the Police University and for its active community landscape. The Music Association, TSV Tamm, the fire department, and the Catholic parish shape the event calendar — the Waldfest is one of the kick-offs to Tamm's spring tradition.
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the Tamm Music Association invites you to the traditional Waldfest in the marquee at Rotenackerwald. The day begins with an ecumenical church service in the marquee, followed by the morning pint (Frühschoppen) from 12 p.m. — performed by the Tamm Music Association in full orchestra. Bratwurst, Maultaschen, beer, wine, and in the afternoon, cake and coffee will be served to families, association members, and all who attend the festival.
The Waldfest is a typical Swabian spring festival: it combines a sacred element (church service), musical culture (brass band music from the association), and convivial catering. The location at Rotenackerwald invites you for a walk after the morning pint — hiking trails start directly at the festival grounds.
Free admission. Food and drinks at usual association prices. Proceeds benefit the work of the Tamm Music Association.
Tamm is located directly on the B 27 between Ludwigsburg and Bietigheim-Bissingen.
