Open Sunday with City Festival, Associations, Gastronomy, and Program in Kirn's City Center
Kirn's city center, with its historically developed buildings, market squares, and connection to the Nahe river, offers an attractive backdrop for a city festival. Unlike the Kyrau festival grounds, where the major Kirner Kerb takes place, the Innenstadtfest brings the festivities into the heart of the town, close to the shops and restaurants.
A special feature of the Innenstadtfest is its combination with an open Sunday. Kirn's shops open their doors, giving visitors the opportunity to combine the festive atmosphere with a shopping spree. This combination is an important revitalizing factor for a small town's city center and supports the local economy.
The catering is handled by Kirn's associations and local gastronomy. Associations set up stalls throughout the city center with culinary offerings, and restaurants and cafés sometimes extend their services onto the street. This creates a vibrant gastronomic landscape that showcases the best of what Kirn has to offer.
A program is offered on one or more stages: musical performances by local bands or choirs, demonstrations by sports clubs, children's entertainment, and other contributions. The program changes from year to year and is coordinated by the City of Kirn and the Kirn Business Association.
The 2026 edition continues the concept of an open-Sunday city festival in late June. A Sunday in Kirn's city center with a festive atmosphere, gastronomy, and the opportunity to visit local shops.
The exact program for 2026, including participating associations and musical contributions, will be published by the City of Kirn and the Business Association in early summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
