Traditional Lower Bavarian Volksfest with Graf-Arco-Bier
The Volksfest Wallersdorf is one of the established events in Lower Bavaria's festival calendar. The venue is the festival grounds of the market town of Wallersdorf in the district of Dingolfing-Landau in the state of Bavaria. The festival combines proven folk festival tradition with a convivial festive atmosphere.
For the 2026 edition, the market town of Wallersdorf has secured the services of Josef Aicher, an experienced festival host. Aicher is known for the Adldorf Parkfest and also runs the Volksfest in Marktl am Inn. As tradition dictates, the beer served is from the regional traditional brewery Graf Arco from Adldorf, which stands for regional quality.
The festival program follows traditional lines: The opening parade on Wednesday marks the start. On Corpus Christi Day, a boxing match with BC Straubing is scheduled. Friday features a football championship and a children's afternoon. A senior citizens' afternoon will be introduced in 2026 on Saturday. The traditional character of the festival is maintained, complemented by careful innovations.
The Volksfest is supported by the market town of Wallersdorf together with the festival host, local clubs, and participating associations under the leadership of the mayor and the festival committee. This makes the festival a unifying event for the entire market town and a popular meeting place for the region in the Gäuboden.
