75 Years of Volksfest — A Market Community Celebrates
The Ruhmannsfelden Volksfest is one of the most traditional folk festivals in the Regen district, at the gateway to the Bavarian Forest. With its 75th edition in 2026, the market town is making history: a whole lifetime of folk festival conviviality, supported by two clubs – the Trachtenverein D'Teisnachtaler and the Turnverein Ruhmannsfelden – who, as co-organizers, support the festival host and keep the tradition alive.
What awaits you
Four festival days from Friday evening to Monday evening, each in the festival tent on the Volksfestplatz:
- Opening ceremony with beer tapping on Friday, followed by a party band
- Saturday — Family day with reduced prices at the amusement park
- Traditional costume evening with the D'Teisnachtaler
- Sunday — Morning pint with brass music, festival Sunday with a parade of the clubs
- Monday — Festival finale with Bavarian evening, beer price reduction at the end
Classic rides are available on the festival grounds: bumper cars, chain carousel, shooting galleries, candy stalls, and Wurzelsepp. The atmosphere is family-friendly – not a mass event like the Munich Oktoberfest, but a real Lower Bavarian village and market festival where regulars know each other on the festival grounds.
ARBERLAND Volksfest Series
Ruhmannsfelden is part of the ARBERLAND tourist association (Regen district) and part of the regional Volksfest series with festivals in Regen, Bodenmais, Bayerisch Eisenstein, and Viechtach. The festival traditionally follows the Regen Volksfest and precedes the August Volksfest in Bodenmais.

Getting There
Ruhmannsfelden is located in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen, on the B11 between Deggendorf and Regen. By car via the A3 (exit Deggendorf, then B11 north) approx. 25 min., or via the A92 and A93. Parking available at the Volksfestplatz.

Friday, July 17, 2026, from late afternoon (tapping).
Saturday and Sunday continuously from morning until late.
Monday, July 20, 2026, from noon until approx. 11:00 PM (festival finale).
Admission
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Food and drinks in the festival tent, tickets for individual bands may be available at the box office. Rides are priced separately.
