St. Laurentius Riflemen's Brotherhood Holtrup-Langförden

The St. Laurentius Riflemen's Brotherhood Holtrup-Langförden carries on the traditions of the two Vechta districts of Holtrup and Langförden. The patron saint is Saint Lawrence — a martyr saint frequently venerated in Catholic Lower Saxony, to whom the local parish church is also dedicated. The brotherhood is part of a long tradition connecting the church patron, club life, and village community.

Laurentiusplatz as Festival Setting

The Laurentiusplatz in the center of Langförden forms the spatial heart of the festival. Located directly by the St. Lawrence parish church, the square offers the ideal backdrop for assembling, club reception, and social gatherings. For generations, the square has been the central meeting point for the brotherhood and a place of vibrant tradition.

BSV Vechta as Friendly Association

A special feature is the close connection with the BSV Vechta, the Civil Riflemen's Association of the district town. The BSV meets at the assembly point at 6 p.m. and marches together to the Langförden Schützenfest to participate in the parade and the king's proclamation. This mutual participation in each other's festivals underscores the cross-club network in the Oldenburg Münsterland region.

Classic Club Festival

The program follows the classic club festival structure with assembly, parade, king's shooting, proclamation of the new royal court, and a dance evening. The joint church service, catering in the festival tent, and exchange with friendly clubs shape the atmosphere.
