Techno in the Shadow of Naumburg Cathedral

Naumburg Cathedral St. Peter and Paul has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2018 – a Romanesque-early Gothic cathedral with the famous donor figures of Uta and Ekkehard, considered the pinnacle of medieval sculpture. Anyone who had predicted years ago that the adjacent Domgarten would one day become the venue for a high-end techno festival would have been met with disbelief. In 2026, it becomes reality.

The Unique Place Open Air series, with its Naumburg premiere event, brings a concept to Saxony-Anhalt that focuses on curated exclusivity: Only 600 guests, a unique location, a top-class international line-up. The concept has already proven successful at sister events at the Goseck Sun Observatory and other extraordinary locations – now it arrives in the Naumburg Domgarten.

Line-up 2026: Rodriguez Jr., Monkey Safari, Christian Kornberg

The French live act Rodriguez Jr. is one of the most prominent figures in the international melodic techno scene. His live sets, played on a range of analog synthesizers, are known for being emotional, profound, and musically outstanding. He is joined by the German duo Monkey Safari (Sven and Lars), who will take the stage with an energetic, melodic sound. Christian Kornberg brings three decades of experience in the electronic spectrum, and Jana Solêa rounds off the line-up with DJ sets bridging House and Techno.

Six Hours of Premium Atmosphere

The event runs from 4 PM to midnight. In late May, twilight in Naumburg lasts until after 9:30 PM, meaning the dance floor will be active in daylight as well as under the illuminated cathedral. The premiere is sold out, and there will be no tickets available at the door. With the concept of a strictly limited event in a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Unique Place series is creating something unique in the state of Saxony-Anhalt – high-end electronics in a setting that no festival planner could invent better.
