About Uhlenfest
Uhlenfest — edition 2026
2026 Edition
The bergmanngruppe is organizing the Uhlenfest 2026 again in the format established since 2025: no main stage, but several mobile live music stations moving through the neighbourhood. The late-riser flea market runs on Saturdays until 9 PM, and the family programme is concentrated on Papenhuder Straße. The festival deliberately starts later on Sunday morning – a concession to the neighbourhood character of Uhlenhorst.

Neighbourhood Festival on the Alster Shore
Uhlenhorst is one of the most sought-after residential areas in the Hamburg-Nord district, located directly on the eastern shore of the Outer Alster. The elegant Wilhelminian-era and Art Nouveau facades of the Hofweg define the cityscape – and this is precisely where the Uhlenfest sets its tone: a neighbourhood festival that respects the urban flair of the quarter rather than overshadowing it with Ferris wheels and fairground attractions.
Mobile Live Music Instead of a Main Stage
In 2025, the organizing bergmanngruppe changed the concept: no more central stage, but instead, wandering musicians between Hofweg and Papenhuder Straße. Live bands, singer-songwriters, and small brass ensembles move around, creating different musical atmospheres at various points of the festival. You wander through the neighbourhood – the music comes to you.
Late-Riser Flea Market and Culinary Delights
On Saturdays, the famous late-riser flea market runs until 9 PM, a format consciously aimed at Uhlenhorst residents and visitors from all over Hamburg – furniture, clothing, books, curiosities. Food trucks and street food stalls provide refreshments, from classic currywurst to vegetarian and vegan specialities. An Aperol Spritz lounge and several seating and lounge areas offer a break from the hustle and bustle.
Programme for Families
For children, there's face painting, balloon art, a small carousel, and interactive stands on Papenhuder Straße. The charm of the festival lies in making families and singles feel equally welcome – a mix that the Hamburg-Nord district has proudly cultivated for years.
Location and Atmosphere
The Outer Alster is just a few steps away, and the corner building architecture of the Hofweg provides arguably the most beautiful backdrop a neighbourhood festival in Hamburg can have. Combining the festival with a stroll along the Alster shore promises one of the most relaxed summer weekends in the Hanseatic city.
