Uckermark Music Weeks — Festival of Rural Soundscapes

The Uckermark Music Weeks have been a unique festival of early and classical music in northeastern Brandenburg since 1992. Instead of large concert halls, the festival uses the most atmospheric venues in the Uckermark: old barns, horse stables, manor houses, village churches, and outdoor locations such as the Bürgergarten Angermünde, Greiffenberg Castle ruins, or the garden of the Jewish Museum Schwedt. Each concert is an encounter between music and place.

Program "Piazzolla & more" in Kuhz

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Music Weeks will present the program "Piazzolla & more" in Kuhz at 4:00 PM. Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992), the Argentine composer and bandoneon player, has conquered the classical concert world, especially in recent decades, with his Tango Nuevo — his pieces combine folk tradition with classical form and are now performed by chamber ensembles worldwide. The "Piazzolla & more" program features these Argentine pieces alongside other works of a related style.

Kuhz and the Boitzenburger Land

Kuhz is a district of the municipality of Boitzenburger Land in the Uckermark district — one of the sparsely populated municipalities between Boitzenburg, Hardenbeck, and Templin. The typical Uckermark landscape with forests, small lakes, and old village structures provides an ideal context for the understated sonic aesthetic of the Music Weeks.

In the Festival Context 2026

The 2026 edition runs from August 1 to 23 and features over 22 concerts in the Uckermark — from Baroque music to contemporary chamber music. New to the 2026 program are the Hypershale in Templin and Gutshaus Woltersdorf. Tickets are available via Reservix.
