About Pottery Market Templin
Pottery Market Templin — edition 2026
Anniversary Market with Tradition
With its tenth edition, the Templin Pottery Market celebrates a milestone anniversary in 2026. Tourismus-Marketing Templin GmbH expects ceramic artists and potters from all over Germany again at the historic market square — from the Mecklenburg Lake District to the Westerwald. The focus will be on traditional vessels, utilitarian ceramics, and garden ceramics, complemented by sculptures and artistic individual pieces.
At the stands, many exhibitors will demonstrate live on the potter's wheel or show glaze tests — a fascinating experience, especially for children. Planters and garden objects can be taken home directly from the market; larger sculptures can be delivered after the market.

Tenth Anniversary on the Historic Market Square
With the 2026 edition, the Templin Pottery Market celebrates its tenth anniversary. On September 19 and 20, the historic market square in the heart of the medieval walled city will once again transform into a colorful showcase of German ceramic art — and a meeting point for everyone looking for a piece of handmade ceramics or simply loving the smell of clay work and wax glaze.
Ceramics from All Over Germany
Tourismus-Marketing Templin GmbH (TMT) invites potters and ceramic artists from all over Germany. The range extends from traditional rustic utilitarian ceramics (bowls, jugs, cups) to vessels with ancient mythology and Mediterranean motifs, to garden ceramics (planters, birdhouses, fountains). Artistic individual pieces complete the offering — sculptures and objects that understand ceramics as a contemporary art form.
"Designed with Fantasy — For the Love of Craftsmanship"
The market's guiding principle is also its recipe for success: no industrial mass-produced goods, no glazed souvenirs from wholesalers — but a carefully curated selection of exhibitors who have designed and fired every one of their works themselves. Those interested in pottery craftsmanship can watch many artists at work with small demonstrations at their stands — on the potter's wheel, glaze tests, freehand building.
Templin — Gateway to the Uckermark
Templin, with just under 16,000 inhabitants, is the largest town in the Uckermark after Prenzlau and is considered the "Gateway to the Uckermark." The almost completely preserved medieval city wall with its defensive towers and the historic market square with the town hall and burgher houses form one of Brandenburg's most attractive old town backdrops. Located directly on the Templin Lake, the town is also a state-recognized health resort. A longer stay is worthwhile for the market visit: the NaturThermeTemplin, the town lake with a boat landing, and the Templin thermal baths are only a few minutes from the market.
Atmosphere and Tips
The market is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Tip: Those who want to buy high-quality pieces should come on Saturday morning — the selection will still be complete. Those who want to stroll relaxed and chat with potters should come on Sunday afternoon, when the atmosphere is more relaxed and the sun shines longer over the market square. Food and drinks are served directly at the market, with options for breaks in the cafés around the market square.
