Monthly summer flea market at the "Little Sea" of the Mark
The Trödel-Sonntage am Helenesee have been a fixture in Brandenburg's flea market calendar for years. On every second Sunday in summer, the Camping- und Freizeitpark Helenesee on the outskirts of Frankfurt (Oder) transforms into a sprawling flea market. Dealers and private sellers offer antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, books, tools, dishes, and everything that can be found in cellars, attics, and garages.
In 2026, the series will take place on four summer Sundays — from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day:
Those wishing to participate as sellers pay a stand fee of €3 per running meter or a flat rate of €8 per vehicle/seller. Reservations are possible. Setup begins at 8 a.m.; sellers park for free at their stands. New goods must be approved in advance — the market is primarily intended as a second-hand goods event.
The Helenesee is located about 10 kilometers south of Frankfurt (Oder) in the Oder-Spree district and, with its over 250-hectare water surface, is one of the largest lakes in Eastern Brandenburg. It was created by flooding a disused open-cast lignite mine and is considered the "Little Sea of the Mark" or "Brandenburg's Baltic Sea" due to its crystal-clear water and white sandy beaches. The Camping- und Freizeitpark Helenesee on its shore is one of Eastern Brandenburg's largest recreational areas.
What sets the Trödel-Sonntage am Helenesee apart from other Brandenburg flea markets is the atmosphere: you're not browsing in a hall or on a gray marketplace, but on the shore of a spectacular lake, with a beach view and summer sun. Many visitors combine their flea market visit with a day of swimming in the Helenesee — an unusual and relaxed combination.
The organizer is the Camping- und Freizeitpark, managed by Frank Woitke (contact 0171 5222253). The events are highly weather-dependent — in extreme conditions, dates may be postponed or canceled. Always check helenesee.de/events for current information before your visit.
