About Triefensteintag

The Triefensteintag is the major open encounter day of the Christusträger Brotherhood in the former Triefenstein Monastery above the Maintal valley. For one day, the community opens its gates: information and sales stands, hands-on activities, a creative courtyard, magic with Julian Böhme, and in the evening a concert by Jan Jakob and Band invite guests from the region. In 2026, the Triefensteintag will be the centerpiece of an entire festival week celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Christusträger at the Triefenstein location – a festival of faith, encounter, music, and creativity in Unterfranken.

Encounter Day at Triefenstein Monastery

The Triefensteintag takes place at Triefenstein Monastery, a former Augustinian canonry high above the Maintal valley in the municipality of Triefenstein in the Main-Spessart district (Unterfranken, Bavaria). Today, the monastery is home to the Christusträger Brotherhood, an evangelical communal community. The Triefensteintag is their major public open house day.

Program for the Whole Family

For one day, the monastery grounds transform into a lively meeting place: information and sales stands offer insights into the life and work of the brotherhood, hands-on activities and a creative courtyard invite visitors to create things themselves. The magician Julian Böhme performs throughout the day and presents a stage show in the evening; the musical conclusion is provided by Jan Jakob and his band.

40 Years of Christusträger in Triefenstein

In 2026, the Triefensteintag is embedded in a festival week with which the Christusträger celebrate 40 years of their work at the Triefenstein location. The festival week includes guided tours, further concerts, and a family-oriented afternoon program – the Triefensteintag forms its public highlight.

Place of Silence and Encounter

Triefenstein Monastery, with its baroque collegiate church and its location above the Main River, is a special place. The Triefensteintag makes it accessible to everyone for one day – an open, warm festival that combines spiritual tradition with music, creativity, and community.
