The Osterweg at Triefenstein Monastery 2026 will be open on Good Friday and Holy Saturday, April 3 and 4, from 2 PM to 6 PM each day. A trail with 15 stations leads through the Easter story and is designed for both adults and children. Visitors gain access to normally closed areas of the monastery, such as the barrel-vaulted cellar. In 2026, the Osterweg is part of the anniversary program "40 Years of Christusträger at Triefenstein Monastery"; a special exhibition commemorates the anniversary. After the tour, coffee and cake are served in the baroque garden. Admission is free, donations are requested.

Getting There
Triefenstein Monastery is located on the Main in the municipality of Triefenstein. Travel by car via the A3 (exit Marktheidenfeld) and continue along the Main. Train travel via Marktheidenfeld/Lengfurt with connections.

Easter at Triefenstein Monastery
The Osterweg at Triefenstein Monastery is a family-oriented cultural event by the Christusträger Brotherhood. Triefenstein Monastery is located on the Main in the municipality of Triefenstein in the Main-Spessart district, in the Lower Franconia region of Bavaria. The Protestant Christusträger Brotherhood has been based here since 1986.
15 Stations through the Easter Story
On Good Friday and Holy Saturday, the Osterweg with 15 stations leads through the Easter story. The stations are designed to appeal to both adults and children. Visitors gain access to areas of the monastery that are normally closed – including the historic barrel-vaulted cellar. The Osterweg thus also becomes a discovery tour through the monastery grounds.
