Family discovery tour during Easter at the monastery
The Osterweg at Triefenstein Monastery is a family-oriented cultural event by the Christusträger Brotherhood. Triefenstein Monastery is located on the Main in the municipality of Triefenstein in the Main-Spessart district, in the Lower Franconia region of Bavaria. The Protestant Christusträger Brotherhood has been based here since 1986.
On Good Friday and Holy Saturday, the Osterweg with 15 stations leads through the Easter story. The stations are designed to appeal to both adults and children. Visitors gain access to areas of the monastery that are normally closed – including the historic barrel-vaulted cellar. The Osterweg thus also becomes a discovery tour through the monastery grounds.
In 2026, the Osterweg will be part of the anniversary program "40 Years of Christusträger at Triefenstein Monastery". A special exhibition commemorates the anniversary. After the tour, coffee and cake are served in the monastery's baroque garden.
Admission is free; donations are requested for the upkeep of the monastery. The Osterweg combines spiritual education, family activities, and cultural experience, making it a special attraction during the Easter season in the Main-Spessart district.
