Tradition Across Generations
The Stader Frühjahrsmarkt looks back on a long tradition and is one of the fixed events in the Hanseatic city's annual calendar. Generations of Stade residents associate personal memories with the carousel rides, the view from the Ferris wheel over the city, and the stalls with candied almonds. The city administration organizes the fair in cooperation with showmen from the entire region.
Five Days of Festivities
The spring fair runs from Thursday morning to Monday evening, offering five full days of events. It is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM. On weekdays, it primarily attracts families with children to the festival grounds, while on weekends, the adult audience is also strongly represented.
Carousels, Rides, and Stalls
The showmen set up the entire repertoire of a classic funfair: carousels for the little ones, dodgems, a roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, throwing and shooting stalls, game stalls with grabbers, food stalls with bratwurst, fries, crêpes, cotton candy, and candied almonds. The evening lighting turns the festival grounds into a dazzling experience.
Hanseatic City of Stade as a Festival Venue
The Stade festival grounds are centrally located and easily accessible via the S-Bahn line S3 / the Metronom from Hamburg. Those arriving by public transport can easily reach the fair from the train station. The spring fair marks the start of the funfair season in Stade and is complemented in autumn by a comparably large Stader Herbstmarkt (Stade Autumn Fair).
