The Christopher Street Day Bonn traditionally takes place on the first Saturday of August — making it a fixed date in the federal city's event calendar. The festival is organized by the association r(h)einqueer Bonn e.V., which represents Bonn's queer community and combines political demands with cultural visibility.

Demonstration, Stage, Summer Festival

Three elements characterize CSD Bonn: Firstly, the demonstration, a political parade through Bonn's city center under a slogan that is set anew each year. Secondly, the large stage program on Münsterplatz with bands, comedy, talks, shows, and much more. Thirdly, the summer festival itself — food, drinks, stalls, and meeting spaces — as well as an after-show party in the evening.

Political and Social Significance

With thousands of visitors annually, CSD Bonn is one of the most important queer events in North Rhine-Westphalia — only Cologne and Düsseldorf host larger CSDs. The concentration on Münsterplatz, directly in front of the over 1,000-year-old Bonn Minster, makes the day particularly visible and symbolic.
