Töplitz — Werder's wine district

Werder (Havel), a town 30 km west of Berlin in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, is famous for its fruit-growing tradition (Werder Blossom Festival in April). Less known: that wine is also cultivated here. In the Töplitz district, a peninsula on the Großer Plessower See, there are small wineries whose products are presented annually at the wine festival. The festival is small and family-friendly – not a mass event, but a local festival with a focus on wine.

The Wine Festival — Heritage and Wine

The Töplitz Wine Festival is organized by the Heimatverein Töplitz e.V. (Töplitz Local Heritage Association) and takes place on the Töplitz village square – directly on the Havel river, at An der Havel 68. The program includes: wine sales and tastings from regional vintners, local customs (folk dancing, traditional costumes), live music, gastronomy with Havelland cuisine, street food, and a children's program. The atmosphere is cozy, with regular guests from Werder, the Havelland region, and Berlin.

2026: 7th Edition

The festival has been celebrated annually since 2019 (with a break in 2020/21 due to Corona). The 7th edition in 2026 is expected to take place in September (previous year: September 20, 2025) – the exact date will be announced by the local heritage association soon. Surroundings: Werder and Lake Plessow

Visitors to the Töplitz Wine Festival often combine their visit with walks along the Großer Plessower See, a tour through historic Werder, or a visit to the Werder Heilsblutkapelle (Chapel of the Holy Blood). Take the RB22 train from Berlin Hbf for 30 minutes to Werder, then a bus to the Töplitz peninsula.
